FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What questions we usually get about solar services

What is a Rooftop solar system?

A rooftop solar system is an electricity generating system where the solar panels are installed on the roof of a building. It is either connected to the grid and/or fitted along with a battery backup.

What are the advantages of Solar?

Some advantages of installing solar systems are, reduced electricity bills, lower carbon footprint, energy independence (partial), potential export revenue or credits, and increased property value among others.

What will be the cost of installing the system? Do you provide bank financing?

The cost of the system largely depends on the individual requirement. For example, an average sized family using house appliances and an E.V. (5kW), the cost would be about Rs 350,000.
Yes, we can assist with bank financing, subject to approval.

How much can be saved on electricity bills by installing Solar?

Most customers save 50–70% on electricity bills. Typical annual savings range from Rs. 50,000 to 80,000.

How do these solar panel work? What are the other main components in the system?

Solar panels convert sunlight into DC electricity which is not suitable for appliances. An inverter converts DC into AC electricity which is suitable for home use.
The other main components are:
- Inverter
- Mounting structures
- DC/AC isolators & breakers, AC distribution panel
- Generation meter and bi-directional meter
- Battery and Battery Management System
- Monitoring system

What will be the life span of solar panels and inverters and what warranty is available for the products?

The typical useful life of a panel is 25+ years. Inverters typically last 10–15 years for string inverters. (microinverters can last longer up to 15–25 years).
The warranties on the products are :
- Panels: 10 to 15-year product warranty (25+ year performance warranty).
- Inverters: often 5 years standard, extendable for extra cost.
- Batteries: usually 5–10 years
- Mounting structure: 10 years

How heavy is the solar system and how do I know which solar panel system size/ configuration is right for me?

For a typical 5kW configuration which is enough for a 4-5 member family, the system will weigh about 350-400 kgs.
You can visit our showroom and discuss with our team to figure out which solar setup is appropriate for you. We provide technical and financial guidance along with a detailed survey.

How long will the process take to install and start?

From contract to commissioning, it typically takes 2–3 weeks including permits and inspection. Times may be slightly shorter or longer depending on local permitting and utility timelines.

Does the system have the battery backup?

On-grid systems without batteries will not provide backup. Battery back-up will be provided when you specify a Hybrid or an Off-grid system.

What will happen to the system if there is a power outage, or if generation is not possible?

In the case of a power outage, the on-grid systems shut down for safety, whereas the hybrid systems supply selected circuits through battery backup.
If the generation is low (cloudy/rainy days), the panels produce reduced power. However, if there is no generation (nighttime), the battery or grid must supply power.

Can I install the solar panel system now and later include the battery?

Our systems are designed to be battery-ready (hybrid inverter or space for additions).

Is it possible to shift the solar system from one location to another?

It is physically possible but not recommended due to the related technical and economic costs.

What is net-metering? Will it affect my utility/electricity bill?

It is a metering arrangement where excess generation is exported to the grid for a set cost and the amount is adjusted in the monthly electricity bill.
Yes, it affects the electricity bill as the amount for the exported electricity is discounted in the bill.
